A 12 to 14 week digital internship: an unpaid, virtual training programme based on a real brief from Deeplink, with feedback from Deeplink staff. You finish with a project you can show employers and talk about with confidence.
What it is
A real-world brief, as part of your training
You work on a training brief modelled on real Deeplink projects in data, using public, sample or past data. Deeplink staff give you feedback, and you finish with a project you can present to employers.
The digital internship is part of your training and is delivered online. It is unpaid, and it is not a job. You work at your own pace, with no set hours. You are not required to produce work for Deeplink or its clients, Deeplink does not rely on your work, and there is no promise of a job, so the focus stays on what you learn and what you can show employers.

Clear terms
What the digital internship is, and what it isn’t
The same terms are in your student agreement.
- It is
- Part of your training: unpaid, virtual and done at your own pace. A brief based on a real Deeplink brief, using public, sample or past data, with feedback from Deeplink staff. Your work is yours to keep and show employers, as long as it contains no Deeplink or client information.
- It isn’t
- A job, a paid placement or employment with Deeplink or its clients. Deeplink and its clients don’t use or rely on your work, you don’t work set hours, and it isn’t a route to a job at Deeplink or a promise of one.

- Data analysis
- An analysis and dashboard that answers a real business question, using sample or past data, presented with clear recommendations.
- Data engineering (upgrade)
- An automated, tested data pipeline built on public data, with checks that catch problems before anyone relies on the results.

Questions people ask
Is the digital internship paid, and is it a job?
No to both. It is an unpaid training programme, delivered online, with no set hours. It is not a job with Deeplink, and there is no promise of one.
Is the brief realistic?
Yes. Each training brief is based on a real Deeplink brief in data or research, using public, sample or past data, and Deeplink staff give you feedback. You do not produce work for Deeplink or its clients, Deeplink does not rely on your work, and there is no promise of a job.
Who owns the work I create?
You do, so you can show it to employers. You must not publish anything that contains Deeplink or client information, and projects based on past Deeplink material stay private. Deeplink doesn’t use your work.
How do I describe it on my CV?
As a digital internship with Deeplink, completed as part of a training programme. We agree a short description with you, so what you write is accurate and you can talk about it with confidence.
Is it remote?
Yes. You work remotely, at your own pace. We suggest about 10 to 15 hours a week.
Who can do the digital internship?
Every student on our coaching programme. It is part of the Data Analyst track at no extra cost, and the Data Engineering upgrade includes a second, shorter brief in data engineering.
